Last night Unity hosted the launch for the greatly anticipated book of political satire cartoons Murdoch, which sold out even before the talks commenced. Countless people and resounding laughter filled the room to the brim throughout the event. Publisher Robbie Burton and fellow satirist David Armstrong spoke of how political satire works to secure a democratic society and has been a cathartic release of the people for centuries. Authors Sharon Murdoch and Melinda Johnston went on to outline what political satire means to them and the hard work they put into creating such a relevant and on-the-pulse publication.
