Launch Update: Refuge New Zealand by Ann Beaglehole

On Tuesday the 26th of November we were privileged to launch Refuge New Zealand: A Nation’s Response to Refugees and Asylum Seekers by Ann Beaglehole. Published by Otago University Press, Refuge examines how refugees have been treated in New Zealand over the years. Around a hundred people came to show support and pick up the book.

Rachel Scott from Otago University Press opened the evening and Jock Phillips spoke about what effect the book had on him, and his belief in its importance. Ann then read some passages to us before thanking the people that had supported her and contributed to the book’s publication.

Thanks to everyone who came out in the wind and the rain! It was a great night and it’s lovely to see so much love for New Zealand publications.
