It was the week that Wellington was lashed with wind, rain and hail in our first true storm of the season. It was also the week that Home: New Writing, an essay collection gathering some of the finest voices in New Zealand and published by Massey University Press, was launched.
The souls who braved the weather on Thursday 13th July were treated to readings from Ian Wedde, Ingrid Horrocks, Tina Makeriti, Ashleigh Young and Elizabeth Knox. As editor Thom Conroy explained, he assigned the topic of ‘home’ and the 22 contributors took that and went in all sorts of directions, some near, some far. We think it’s a book worth taking home with you.
