“Disaster man” Lloyd Homer photographed events such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and landslides around New Zealand for over 35 years.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Simon Nathan is a Wellington-based geologist and science writer who has worked for many years with Lloyd Homer.  He has written several biographies, including James Hector (19th century scientist) and Joseph Divis (mining town photographer).
