1999 was a good year for Wellington-based book-people at the Montana New Zealand Book Awards, with a Elizabeth Knox, Kate Camp, William Brandt and Vincent O’Sullivan all winning awards in their categories and “Wellington’s spunkiest bookshop” being awarded Bookseller of the Year, as noted here, in Booknotes.
