Staff were horrified when an alarmist and misogynistic anti-abortion advertisement was given prominence in Capital magazine. We considered various responses, including pulling our advertising, but ultimately decided to create an advertisement highlighting some books which address the history and politics of abortion policy as a more subtle counter-argument on the basis that context and education are more effective than bullying polemics and ideology.
