An invitation to the Auckland launch for Mister Pip by Lloyd Jones (Penguin Books). It was published to great acclaim, being shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2007; winning the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for best book in Southeast Asia and the South Pacific and also the Montana Medal for Fiction or Poetry. In 2008 the novel won the Kiriyama Prize for books about the Pacific Rim and South Asia.
