The editorial for the December Issue of the NZ Book Council newsletter sums up progress and projects aspirations and challenges for the book industry as the 1970s become the 1980s. Economic stagnation and the reluctance of government agencies to fund the Arts Council at a sustainable level mean private sector funding will be needed to continue and expand on current arts programmes.
