“Risky Business” article, Capital Times, 1999

An article about publisher Ann Mallinson and her business philosophy, the success of which she puts down to “educated instinct”. She picks the day Lynley Dodd delivered the draft of Hairy Maclary as the highlight of her career, and says she’s celebrating 20 years of publishing with the launch of Big Weather: Poems of Wellington selected by Gregory O’Brien and Louise White. This went on to be a huge seller and we are still asked for it today, though it has sadly been out of print now for several years.
