Romania Donations, 21st June 1933

After Daniela Crasnaru made a visit to New Zealand for Writers and Readers Week, she made a plea in The Evening Post for help getting children’s books for Romania, where the cost of paper and printing means very few books get published. Author James McNeish and Unity’s Louise Wrightson co-ordinated a campaign which resulted in 600 books being donated. Daniela was extremely grateful and wrote to express her thanks.
