Supporting Te Papa Press, 12th April 2015

Everyone at Unity Books (and elsewhere in the book trade) was horrified when we learned that the head of Te Papa was considering closing down or suspending Te Papa Press. We pondered what to do, wrote to the Museum and the media, pushed our Te Papa Press books into the spotlight and  – after months of worry – felt gratified when the management relented and re-instated the  publishing programme due in part to the public outcry.

Brainstorming ideas for supporting the staff & programme of Te Papa Press.

Our impromptu display featuring recent Montana Medal Winner Jill Trevelayan’ biography of Peter McLeavey and gorgeous bestseller Buller’s Birds of New Zealand: the Complete Work of JG Keulemans edited by Geoff Norman.

The statement we sent to media as well as to Te Papa.
