It was touch and go as to whether this launch would go ahead – it was the day after the 7.8 Earthquake rocked Kaikoura and destroyed the nerves of many in Wellington. But the books, wine, cheese and author were all intact, so on went the show. The turnout was understandably low , but for those who attended it was a nice break from worry and a good time to be surrounded by people in a comparatively seismically safe environment. The Shops by Steve Braunias with photography by Peter Black was published by Luncheon Sausage Books.
