AFTERGLOW: New Transgender Blockbusters by Oscar Upperton & Specimen by Madison Hamill

Tuesday, 3rd of March, 2020

Our second launch of the year, on a classic Tuesday evening, was another double-header! We had the pleasure of hosting the launch of New Transgender Blockbusters by Oscar Upperton and Specimen by Madison Hamill.

After being professionally introduced by Unity’s own Rachel Graham, Fergus Barrowman of Victoria University Press excitedly announced that we would be trying something different for the evening!

Ashleigh Young, who edited both Oscar’s poems and Madison’s essays, was up next with a witty rundown of the authors, both personally and through their writing.

Following Ashleigh, Oscar and Madison introduced us to their works through readings and back stories. The room was very quickly bursting with laughs.

The evening concluded with Oscar and Madison surrounded by friends, family and fans.

Thanks go to Oscar, Madison and Victoria University Press. Hoorah!!

Pretty, shiny new books.
