The evening of Tuesday May 21st brought Unity Books Wellington the good fortune of launching The Grief Almanac: A Sequel by Vana Manasiadis published by Seraph Press. The Grief Almanac is a new work of poetry written in the wake of her mother’s death.
Helen Rickerby of Seraph Press introduced Vana’s previous work as well as elements of The Grief Almanac. The book was fittingly launched by mother Fiona Farrell, Kiwi author of poetry, fiction and plays, and her daughter Susannah Poole, a close friend of Vana’s. Due to the nature of the poetry the event was highly emotional and engaging. Vana’s reading was beautiful, perfectly capturing the audience with her poetry written in English and Greek.
The Grief Almanac and Vana’s first book of poetry, Ithaca Island Bay Leaves: a Mythistorima, are both available in store.
