Unity Books’ newly refreshed fleet of wine flutes was christened with Marlborough’s finest Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc on Friday 11th Nov courtesy of the vineyards of New Zealand Wine impresario Allan Scott in celebration of the launch of his memoir, Marlborough Man. The self-effacing winemaker admitted to the crowd of lunch time drinkers that he had initially envisioned the book as a drier take on the technicalities of wine production, but was persuaded by co-author Eric Arnold and publisher Harper Collins to pursue a more personal take on the story of his life in the industry, a decision vindicated by the presence of a natural raconteur full of an infectious enthusiasm and passion for a life’s work that has taken New Zealand wines to the world.
